An osprey family spends the warm months at their nest just south of Spruce Meadows Trail. A large unnamed body of water is the main attraction for them, that and the high post platform that some kind organization has erected and upon which they set up housekeeping and raise a new family every year. Daddy osprey is kept very busy, flying out over the water hunting for unsuspecting fish. His catches are returned to the nest immediately, dropped off and back he goes, his beak just an inch or so above the surface and his talons trailing lightly in the water. These photographs provide an accurate visual definition of "awesomeness".
